FOUNDATION OF THE SOCIETY OF ULTRASOUND IN RWANDA (SUR)


It was Wednesday 15th December, 2010 when the society of ultrasound in Rwanda was founded. This started with the presentation made by Dr Rudakemwa Emmanuel during an international workshop on ultrasound in Kigali with direct supervision of MASU and WFUMB representatives.
Topic: RWANDA SOCIETY OF ULTRASOUND CONCEPT PRESENTATION
The session came up with the following resolutions.
1.       Delegates unanimously passed a motion to form the Rwanda society of ultrasound which will be affiliate member to the Mediterranean and African society of ultrasound the motion moved by Mr. Remy Wilson and seconded by Dr Emmanuel Rudakemwa and after Mr Saidi Kayiranga.
2.       The elected team shall work on constitution and other aspects of society formation before the June 15 2011.
3.       Elections were conducted through name mentioning nominations followed by voting by show of hands and the following individuals were elected for these respective offices.

Society of Ultrasound in Rwanda (SUR) is expected to play a pivotal role in the area of capacity building and Ultrasound promotion, it will greatly contribute to our country's vision 2020, in which the role of establishment of standards, follow up of the meet of those standards, continuous registration of members and assure their continuous training will be a major component, thus the development of ultrasound career and health promotion in general.
